2."How to replace a recoil starter?"
A:"Before you begin the replacement, you need to make sure the engine has cooled and remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.
Step 1: Loosen the starter rope retainer wing nut, so you can release the rope from the retainer and allow it to rewind onto the starter pulley.
Step 2: Now use the 10 millimeter socket to unthread the three mounting nuts securing the recoil starter. With the nuts removed, you can lift the old starter off to install the new recoil starter.
Step 3: Align the new recoil starter on the mounting posts. So the starter rope and handle faces the right rear corner of the engine cover.
Step 4: Thread and tighten the mounting nuts.
with the new starter secured, depress the bale arm and gently extend the starter rope. Position the starter rope handle in the retainer then tighten the wing nut. Reattach the wire and boot to the spark plug. Now your engine should be ready for use."
3."How to replace a recoil spring?"
A:"Tools Needed:
Replacement rewind spring
Screwdrivers
Pliers
Safety gloves
Steps:
1.Turn off the generator and disconnect the spark plug wire.
2.Remove recoil starter housing: Unscrew the bolts holding the starter assembly.
3.Take out the pull cord and starter pulley: Untie the cord, then remove the pulley and any retaining bolts.
4.Remove old rewind spring: Carefully take out the old spring, noting its position for reinstallation.
5.Install new rewind spring: Coil the new spring in the housing in the correct direction (usually counterclockwise) and secure it.
6.Reassemble: Reattach the starter pulley and pull cord, then secure the recoil starter housing back on the generator.
7.Test the recoil starter: Pull the cord to ensure it retracts smoothly, then reconnect the spark plug wire. This should get your generator's recoil starter working again."
4."How to repair a pull cord?"
A:"Here are the detailed steps:
Step 1: Remove the bolts that are holding the cover.
Step 2: Remove the old rope on the cover and the handle. You may need a flat screwdriver to reach into the handle to pop it off and then you can pull the rope out.
Step 3: You have to match up the old rope to a new rope. A small tip is to melt both the ends of the new rope to make the ends nice and smooth. Because the melt rope can prevent itself from fraying.
Step 4: Now, grab your new rope and make a knot at the end and pull on it to make sure that it is really tight.
Step 5: What you need to do is grab the end of the rope without the knot and grab the recoil assembly. Now you have to insert the rope through it and pull on the rope until the knot gets right up to the spool.
Step 6: And then, insert the end of the rope without the knot through the hole in the recoil.
Step 7: Now what you need is the handle, just insert the rope through the handle and make another knot as you did earlier. You just need to insert the knot in the hole on the handle cover.
Step 8: Finally, you just need to tighten up the spring on the spool so that the rope will go back in. Grab the recoil in your hands, turn it four turns counterclockwise, and make sure you turn the spool when you do this and count your turns on where the rope exits the coil. You have to hold the rope to make sure it is in the spool and then you can let it go back in the recoil nice and easy.
Before you install your recoil, it is a good idea to spray it with some liquid wrench to lubricate all the moving parts in the recoil.
Step 9: Reinstall the cover and put up the bolts.
After you’ve finished all the steps above, it is better to try to start your engine up outside to check if the pull cord can work properly."
