Spark Plug Replacement On A Leaf Blower
This blog is a step-by-step instruction for replacing the spark plug on a ECHO leaf blower. The most common reasons for replacing the spark plug are when the leaf blower won’t start.
Replacement
Before you begin the replacement, you need to make sure the engine has cooled and the on/off switch is in the off position. We recommend you remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.
Step 1: Use a 3/4 inch socket or a spark plug wrench to unthread the old plug.
Step 2: Before you install the new spark plug, you need to confirm the spark gap matches manufacturer’s specifications. Then thread the new plug into the cylinder and be careful not to damage the plug by over tightening.
Step 3: Attach the wire and boot to the new spark plug and your leaf blower should be ready for use.
