Hidden Grease Hole On STIHL FS55 FS55R FS38 FS40 FS45 Gas String Trimmers

by JEREMY HIPA 08 Sep 2022 0 Comments

Stihl trimmers play a crucial role in gardening. And a lot of people do not know there is a hidden grease hole that you can grease.

How to find

There is a bearing in the trimmer head, it needs to be greased. So get the line head off and put it aside. Now you need to get the guard off too which is held by just one bolt. Take off the bolt and the guard can slip off the end of the trimmer where you can find a little small bolt. It is a locator bolt or screw for holding that bearing in.
After finding that locator bolt, you are supposed to pull that bolt out of there and put it aside. Then you take your grease gun or just put some grease into the hole where we take that bolt out. The grease will go through into the bearing.
It is important to grease it regularly, maybe once a season or at the beginning of every season. By putting some grease in there, you are going to get a lot more longevity or a lot more life out of your weed eater.
